I just had to try on of the mason jar snow globes I've been seeing on Pinterest and the rest of the blog world......
I happened to have some vintage mason jars and some polymer clay. I bought some bottle brush trees at A. C. Moore and some glitter snow. I shaped the clay to fit around the tree in the base of the mason jars and then hardened it in that shape. I painted the glitter snow on the hardened clay and let it dry. Then I placed the tree (with glue on it) and the snow in the base of the jar and that was that. Easy peasy!!!!
I love the simplicity of it and the way the glass makes it shine.
I shared this post at the following funky linky parties:
So cute! Clever use for the clay too!

ReplyDeleteI included your weekend linky on a page I’ve put together devoted to hops, challenges, and memes for every day of the week, but I don't see one this week. Have you stopped this as a regular feature? If so, I'll remove the listing from that page. Please let me know via email at suzannenroth at gmail dot com.

Use an oil based paint marker Choose a design or price to write on the jar. Markers are great. Takes a few minutes to dry.
