Wooden Valentine Hearts

These little hearts can perch on your shelf to show your guests who the Valentines are in your house. They are not too hard to make if you're handy with a jigsaw!! Here's what you need:
Wood
Paint
Jigsaw
Sandpaper
Contact Paper
Exacto Tool
Mod Podge
~Use a pencil to sketch the hearts on a piece of wood and use the jigsaw to cut them out.
~Sand edges.
~Paint. I went for a marbleized look and did it by not completely mixing the paints. It looked like this:
~Once the paint is dry, cut of the shapes of the initials you want on the hearts into the contact paper.
Then peel off the backing of the paper and stick it to the heart.
~Paint over the paper to make the stencil and let it dry, then peel it off.
~Use some mod podge to seal the deal. (I haven't done that step yet....but I'm getting to it, I'm getting to it!!)

Voila!!

Uno Ojo

I did a little needle felting and made Uno Ojo, the Martian mirror image of Skippyjon Jones, from Skippyjon Jones Lost In Spice. If those of you with Kiddo's have not read any Skippyjon Jones to your child well then, you should be ashamed of yourselves. ;-) Seriously, this little dude is the funniest thing going in Picture books. My Munchkin could listen to his stories over and over again. Some of the hardcover books come with cds as well, and those are read by the author Judy Schachner....who is totally hilarious. You've got to give her books a try!!

Needle felting is so much fun. If you haven't tried it, I totally recommend it. You can buy a needle felting tool from Clover, if you are interested.
